Optometrist

Dr. Tom Reagin is a native of Decatur, Georgia, born in 1954 to Wallis and Joan Reagin. He attended Winnona Park Elementary, Decatur Junior High, Decatur High and Lakeside High School graduating in 1972. Tom then attended Georgia State University for 3 years. In 1975, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee to attend Southern College of Optometry to pursue his dream to practice optometry and follow in his father’s footsteps. 

He joined the faculty as a graduate assistant in 1976 teaching in the optics lab. In 1977, Southern College of Optometry awarded him a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in physics. He was a member of both Sigma Alpha Sigma and Beta Sigma Kappa honor fraternities. Southern College of Optometry awarded him his Doctor of Optometry degree in June 1979. Upon graduation, he stood for board examinations in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and West Virginia, receiving licenses to practice in all four states. He has lectured for the Southeastern Congress of Optometry on Optometric therapy, especially pertaining to remediation of visually related learning disabilities. Dr. Tom immediately joined his father in practice in Decatur, Georgia. He has practiced there for over 38 years. He has joined the practice with Dr. Richard Reagin, his brother, Dr. Lindsay Marshburn, Dr. Tyra Myers, and Dr. Ross Montgomery. This practice is the oldest eye care practice in DeKalb County. He is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and American Mensa and is Past Master of Pythagoras Lodge #41 of Free and Accepted Masons. He is married to Malinda Ellis Reagin, a reading and math intervention specialist for the Gwinnett County Schools. He currently resides in Lilburn, Georgia. He has three adult children and 3 grandchildren.
